The following warning has begun to be distributed in Russia

In Russia they are purchasing equipment for large-scale blocking – the equipment is so serious that it will allow you to block YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, all VPNs or any other service with a click of your fingers.

RKN took into account the errors of Telegram blocking in 2018 and now intends to be able to cut off services using DPI (deep traffic filtering system), which will be helped by the equipment that providers installed under the law “on a sovereign Runet.”

It is still possible to bypass Cheburnet, but the average user is unlikely to bother so much. We are not waiting, but we are preparing.

Internet providers have been forced to follow the strictest path I know, and providers will scan absolutely all traffic for the use of applications banned in Russia to block them. If Telegram is blocked, then I will lose communication with 90% of my friends, but what’s worse is the limitation on the existence of a Telegram account for a maximum of a year. If, a year after the start of the blocking, I am unable to access my Telegram account, then my account will be deleted permanently! And I don’t know whether my foreign friends will agree to switch to some other social network or to my chat server in order to continue to communicate with me. Telegram also contains all work chats, but this is easier, because there is at least some kind of physical connection and there will be an opportunity to cooperate.

I think that if this really happens, then some more friends from the Internet will be weeded out and I will have fewer friends. But these will be friends in whom I will be truly confident.
